Dean eyes followed the redheads as she looked about. Also the expression on her face that she made. That was...interesting. He even could pick out a bit of what was going on in her head. Though there was already confirmation by the good doctor as he'd said this was the correct shuttle pod. Maybe she had to confirm it herself instead of trusting his word about it? That's okay, it did not matter much right now. Maybe her bewilderment had her not hearing everything clearly.
He then did see where she was looking, to Mairsa. Looking back to Cara and pursing his lips. "Well Miss Caross." Yup, she already got a short or...nickname. Fancy that. "I guess we will be working closely together." Giving another look again to Mairsa a moment. Giving a breath before looking back to the redheaded curiosity. Pushing her hand down before the pointing or..'gesture' was to far up and seen. "You would be correct, and," leaning up close to her cheek and ear. "I would advise that you do not make it odd about that fact. She may very well take it as an insult. Polite, shoulders back, up straight. Speak with confidence and vigor. Do not show weakness."
Leaning back a little bit he smiled and as he did slipped a hand down to slip it from her duffle. Catching it in the blink of an eye with his free hand, lifting the held one up to his lips and kissed the back of it. Then stepped aside. Motioning out to the limited space they have. "Welcome to our merry band. Now we just need Friar Tuck." Oh yeah he was trying to be slick."They're old friends. Nothing to worry about. You'll like them." Whispering under his breath, "I think."

Syria wasn't just quiet and shy, she was silent and stealthy, she tends to listen more than act sometimes and what she heard from the Doctor told her two things: He was drunk, and not thinking clearly. Not everyone liked to be hit on the moment they meet a new person. She rolled her eyes as she looked towards the Doctor and the woman who seemed highly uncomfortable.
One minute she was sitting looking out the window the next she was holding a paw out to Cara. "Come on I saved you a seat." She said with a natural purr as if she and Cara were friends and was giving her an excuse to move away from the Human Lieutenant. "We can see the ship from the portal I found for us to sit at." She said with that natural purr giving Cara a look that said, 'don't worry I'm saving you from the Doc.'

[ Lt (jg) Cara Siobhan Ross | Shuttle Launch Bay | DryDock ]The other human in the ship (he looked human, in any case) seemed to understand what Cara was driving at. As he spoke, the girl found her surprised eyes clouding with a bit of confusion. Had she in fact garbled her own name? Was her accent so thick that he'd misheard her? The girls read haired head tilted just a bit to the side as she tried to make sense of it. She watched him turn his gaze to what she thought was a Klingon and then back to her. And then he was there, in her space. Cara sucked back an almost inaudible gasp as she felt his breath caress her ear. It sent a shiver down her spine, and tugged in ways that she did not really want to consider just then. His words were a soft purr, and they had merit. Even if the delivery was enough to put her off her base. She shivered again, and then as he started to pull back, her nose crinkled. Unless Ah'm a blooming fool, that's scotch whiskey on his breath. She looked at the man with the medical turtleneck with more than a little incredulity. This man was an officer. By the look of him, older than her, with experience she'd yet to gain. He'd served. And yet he was drinking, at this hour? She wasn't sure if she hid her surprise over it or not, but it seemed that she'd be given another reason for surprise, as the more senior officer bent over her hand and kissed it, sending her heart a flutter just a tiny bit. This was an old gesture, but one Cara had seen aplenty back on Caldos, where such customs had been quite purposefully revived, and not just by the human population. She still vividly recalled watching an Andorian in a kilt place such a kiss on someones hand once, and that image flashed before her eyes now, forcing a smile onto her bemused face. ”Friar Tuck? Is he tha' ships Chaplin then?" All of this was extremely odd and not at all what she had been expecting. And just like that, before she got an answer, a paw had taken her hand and was gently leading her away. She blinked rapidly, completely off her game now, and stumbled along. "Oh! Ah thank ya, true then," she said, giving a bit of a wave back over her shoulder at the Doctor, and allowed the Caitian (she thought this was a Catian - there were other feline species in the Federation after all) settle her into the seat, and purringly whisper to her. "Oh, ah sure do want t'a see th'ship," she said a bit louder than need be. She was overwhelmed, and she hadn't felt like that since she had first arrived at the Academy four years ago. "Jesus ah must sound like a might bit o'a wreck," she whispered under her breath.

That was an interesting display out of the young woman. Not exactly as much as he'd expected but it certainly was pleasing to see. It made it even more cute how she actually seemed to notice the gesture instead of looking at him funny. Giving a look to the Caitian as she got in the middle in a manner. That was rather rude. They were having a perfectly sound interaction and she didn't not scream out for help as if he was accosting her. That was fine. He'd wait until they were settled and then sat down on Cara's side. Small shuttle, little hard to hide, or hide someone.
"Fictional character. Robin Hood. Friar Tuck Merry men of Sherwood forest?" Did they read books in this century? Giving another look at the Caitian a moment, then that was left to be as it was as he also actually did look out the port hole to see what they were going to be serving on.

"I am sorry to have interrupted I was trying to rescue, you, as you seemed to be rather off your game by him," Syria told Cara before the good Doctor followed like a puppy dog to sit down on the other side of Cara. Shaking her head Syria and her tail flicked slightly annoyingly, but she kept it under control and used a paw to show Cara the ship in the distance. it wasn't a very good view of the ship but they could still see it.
Syria looked to the doctor, "Fictional indeed, more like legends, most stories about Robin Hood and his band of merry men that stole from the rich and gave to the poor comes from bits and pieces of history that have turned their story into a legend." Syria pointed out. Yes, she had read Robin Hood in the Academy. There were no stories like that on Cait.

[ Lt (jg) Cara Siobhan Ross | Shuttle Launch Bay | DryDock ]This was a tiny craft. Space was at a premium and the ability to put distance between themselves and the other occupants was -minimal, Therefore when the doctor (she still didn't have his name) decided to follow, it wasn't exactly difficult. The Klingon, at least, seemed content to keep a space about herself and not intrude into this little gathering as well. Cara felt that was probably for the best. That way she wouldn't have to try to put some of the Doctors advice into action directly with the warrior woman. One less thing t'worry aboot, she concluded, as she listened to the Caitian explained her action. "Ah'm much obliged t'ya" she said to the security officer, as the Doctor explained his meaning. It seemed that the Caitian had indeed read the tales that the Doctor was referencing. "Ah'll admit it sounds like th'kind of yarn that would've been popular back home, but ah'm afraid ah've never 'eard it" Cara confessed, turning to the doctor, and then, twisting about in her seat again in an attempt to get a better view out the view-port. She squinted, but really couldn't make out much detail from there. Her hands were still wrapped around the strap of her bag, wringing it a bit as she worked to settle the butterfly's in her stomach. "Robin 'ood ya say? Ah'll have to look the tale up when we get to th'Augustus. If its in the ships library, mind ye."

[ Unknown Passenger | Transport Shuttle | Shuttle Launchbay | Drydock ] It was only a moment later when the shuttle door opened once more and a pair of figures entered. The larger of the two, in Starfleet uniform, helped the smaller man to a chair. The smaller man seemed to move with an unnatural grace about him, each movement slow and measured. He seemed to glide into the seat, running his hands along the edges of the seat as he eased himself into it. " I apologize for my tardiness," the smaller man said, turning his blind eyes around the room, listening for the people, measuring the space around him. " The particulars of my affliction make travel more difficult and I fear I kept your pilot busy far longer than need be." The man's voice was as calm and measured as his movements were, not a breath spare or gesture wasted. The pilot glanced back to the blind man. " Ready to depart?" he asked in some unidentifiable accent. The blind man smiled an nodded. " It feels good to at last return to my home. I've been on the ground far too long," the blind man said casually, seeming to not direct it at anyone.

Dean tilted his head a little bit as he still sat next to Cara. Not at all bothering to give a look out of the view port that they were doing. Doesn't matter they would see it soon enough. "Yes, Robin Hood. and it will be in the ships library. Steal from the rich, give to the poor." Giving a shrug a little and looking when the shuttle door opened again. Now who were these two. Blind, that was interesting. "I can fix that," talking to the blind man now.Of course not here and now, but he probably could fix that.

[ Unknown Passenger | Transport Shuttle | Shuttle Launchbay | Drydock ] With a small jolt, the shuttle disengaged from its moorings and began to move forward, taking in the full sight of the USS Augustus as it moved to its docking hatch. The pilot did his job well and the trip was as smooth as if they were not moving at all. " Unfortunately, the particulars condition which ails me is not so easily remedied that the medicines of which you practice," the blind man said with a slight smile. " Indeed, if that were the case, I do believe I would have had it tended to long before I arrived here and now." His smiled was not kind, it seemed instead to be hiding something, as if he knew some detail that was if not outright amusing, would make the question utterly insignificant. This tone was soft, patient, and courteous, but it had a hard edge to it. " No, some banes we are meant to live our lives with, it is not our place to question that."

House raised an eyebrow and just grinned, "You do not know me and what I can do then. Also if there is something you don't want to be known by all, I will keep that confidence. I have demons myself. It does not remove the fact just because you seem to assume what I practice, are the only things I have knowledge of." Okay, there was a little bit of a fluff of ego. Reaching a hand a moment when the shuttle jolted, on Cara's thigh. Nice, firm, muscular. Even if he kept it there now for being a nice feel, the initial grab was just an accident because of the shuttle.
"Would you care to introduce yourselves?" His head motioning to his rather large companion also. Even if the blind one couldn't see it, he should be able to understand the words.

Syria looked between the newcomer and the doctor listening to their conversation. She wondered silently to herself why it was so important for everyone to be the same. People were made different for a reason. Granted she had no idea what it was like to be blind or deaf, but it was rare in this century for there to be something science and medicine could not fix if one so wanted it fixed. Which it sounds like this newcomer did wish it fixed, but there was an anomaly that kept him from having it fixed.
Syria knew more about how to put together, and take apart a phaser rifle than she did medicine or science. She knew not what either man was talking about just that it seemed more interesting than the doctor playing at being a bad doctor. "If you so wish to keep his confidence should you not move closer to him rather than talking to him from across the shuttle pod?" Syria asked with an arched brow.

[ Lt (jg) Cara Siobhan Ross | Shuttle Launch Bay | DryDock ]This is turning out ta'be a most interestin' flight, the Caldossian thought to herself as two new figures joined them on the shuttle for the Augustus. She pushed the thoughts of Robin Hood out of her mind, and turned in her seat to watch as the larger officer guided the man to his seat. Cara was proud of herself - she didn't gasp when she caught sight of his eyes. They seemed to stare off into infinity, leaving little doubt to the young science officer that the man was in fact, blind. Curiouser and curiouser cried Alice, Cara thought to herself, the line from the old story seeming most appropriate. Doctor-to-be-named, as she was calling him, turned as well, and seemed, for a moment at least, to have found something - or someone, more precisely - that interested him more than Cara herself, which was a nice pause. He seemed like a decent chap, but also that he had zero sense of personal space. An less ye forget, he'd been in his cups already, she reminded herself. But it was easy enough to just let him be distracted by the other passengers. Professionally so, it seemed this time. The pod gave a bit of a jerk, and then, they were off. Cara felt a flutter of excitement that swiftly shifted to one of shock. Cara Ross was not one of those shrinking violets her mother used to speak of. Nor was she a bloody prig. But the longer the 'good doctor' kept his hand on her very bare thigh, after the shuttle initially took off, the less enamored with him she became. A trace of a temper as fiery as her hair began to slowly broil up in the pit of her stomach. His touch - perhaps welcome in other circumstances but not right then - had distracted her from watching the ship close in the viewport. Tha'daft man sure is coppin'imself a feel, she thought, a mixture of irritation and amusement warring on her face for a moment. He, of course, was looking at the blind man, and exchanging in a bit of bitter banter. At least, Vara thought their other guest seemed a bit peeved by the Doctor's line of inquiry. My but he sure has a way with people. Syria piped in, and Cara gave a little nod. Carefully, she reached down, placed her hand on the Doctors and gave a little tug, adding in a soto voice, "Ye might also be needin' this back, Doctor. Ah'd hate ta leave ye under-equipped."

Syria looked to Cara confused by her comment until she looked between the Doctor-to-be-named and Cara to which Cara's comment finally made sense. Syria covered her muzzle with one paw to keep from laughing out loud. unfortunately, that laughter was dancing in her eyes as she watched the Doctor for his reaction or response to Cara.
She hadn't previously noticed the expressions moving over the young red head's face because she'd been too focused on the doctor and the new arrival's conversation. Now she was more curious as to how said doctor would respond to their companion.

[ Rachael Evelon| Transporter room ]
Reading up on the transporter technology made it abundantly clear to Rachael that the technology that she stood before was not new, even though it was new to her. Research and testing had been done on transporter technology, and theoretical models existed since long before she was a twinkle in her daddy's eye. She was not afraid of trying it. After witnessing tests, she felt the margin of error was acceptable for herself.
As she looked down at the small animal carrier she was holding, the margin of error suddenly seemed too much. Inside were the two most important people in the world: Muffin and Pancake. Two darling little guinea pigs, one long haired and on short, both peacefully munching on a kale leaf, side by side.
In front of her was a transporter technician, explaining procedure to her. She offered him no words, only a narrowed look. She was the sole guardian of these two ladies by her side, and 0.0005% was still too great of a risk for her love and joy.
Nevertheless, she stepped onto the platform and took her place as instructed. Patiently she waited. The tech exclaimed “transport!”. The last thing she thought before light enveloped her vision was how stupid shouting ‘transport' sounded.
The next thing she saw was another transporter room much like the one she came from, but accompanied by the familiar hum of a starship and new techs she had not seen before. She nodded to them, and, checking that her ladies were still safely gnawing on kale, she was satisfied with the experience.
“A congratulations to you, ladies and gentlemen. An efficient device.” She nodded, the best compliment she could give, and stepped off the platform. Now she would find her quarters, set up Muffin and Pancake in their new home, and greet the new senior staff after they came aboard.

[ KDF Commander Mairsa Vl'Tang | Shuttle Launch Bay | DryDock ] attn: Angelus , @brustus , @ syria As the humans spoke Mairsa maintained her attention on the ship they were now smoothly approaching. Like all ships used by Starfleet, it was designed to be pleasing to their eyes, to hers, it looks like an enemy. She felt the hairs on the back of her neck prickle as they drew close. She had been close to a Starfleet ship before, even boarded one before, but this was different. She was not here to fight, she was here to speak, to observe, and to manipulate. She had a duty to attend to. She only paid a passing amount of attention on the happenings in the shuttle. The human doctor soon found himself a hideous human female to become infatuated with and when she did not immediately rebuff his advances quite as strongly as a Klingon woman would have, he took things farther. How like a human. Even the cat-like creature was of little interest to her. Just another one of the domesticated species under the thumb of the Federation. She had been caught off guard by the blind man and his accompanying guard. No, that man was no pilot, he was some kind of guard. he didn't even really smell human to her nose. And then there was the way the Blind man held himself. Mairsa immediately detested him. There was something dangerous about that man, something untrustworthy.
