[ Captain Mason Finch | Conference Room | USS Augustus ] attn: syrano Angelus Kai multificionado Mason raised an eyebrow at that question. "Well, Arcturus is near the Klingon border, but given the current events within the empire, I don't see them doing anything about this, though I guess we should keep our eyes open. I haven't seen much activity on the criminal reports of the sector so I'm not thinking we'll see any other Orions or Gorn. As for the Romulans," Mason paused and shrugged. " It's impossible to say anything about what exactly they are planning. So I'd suggest we keep our eyes open, but unless we have anything to really suggest foreign interference with this station, I think we'd best treat this as a different sort of mission altogether." Mason turned his attention to the new doctor and listened to his idea. " I'm not sure that'd work without getting access to the controls of the power system. At last report, the power systems were on some sort of automatic control. I'm not sure they can, as you said, cut the power, but honestly once we get there we'll have a lot to figure out about this problem," he replied thoughtfully. " But I'm liking where you're mind is going. We just need to figure out how best to tackle this problem and until we get more information it's hard to say what will work and what won't. So for now, let's get ready for the mission and get ready to learn everything we can about this situation." He looked around the room and nodded. " Well, I think I've taken up enough of your time. We'll be departing as soon as I get the all clear from the Chief Engineer, in the meantime I suggest you all find your accommodations of the ship. I know I am in the mood to hit the messhall and finally get some breakfast," Mason said as he got to his feet. " Though it would be brunch at this point."

"Captain. Actually it will work, and this is why. I know that I am the Chief Medical officer, but I also am not stupid. If we do it the way I said, will work. However, you do bring up a good point. And thank you for understanding what I am getting at." Dean nodded. "And we always could field test it here with what I said. Also as for getting in. There is always a command code. We just need to pull it up, and its in our database. To order her to give us remote control."
There were the options even more he put out and it is not like they weren't viable.

[ Lt (jg) Cara Siobhan Ross | Shuttle Launch Bay | DryDock ]Lt. Ross was too young, and too green to realize that Captain Mason might not be as confident as he was projecting. What the others might pick up, sailed over her pretty red haired head, and what was left was a reassured Academy graduate, full of inspiration from her CO, and a sense of duty that would require of her the best she could bring to the situation. It was hard to express that in words, and the, "Yessir," she offered the Captain seemed insufficient, as proper as it was. So we 'ave'ta focus on fixin' and not evacuatin', she noted, glancing, and listening to the doctor, and the other officer that had joined them, the one with the mustache. Both brought up good points, and though Cara was not an engineer, she followed the bespectacled man's logic fairly well. For a sawbones he's pretty bright, she allowed. Although perhap's he doesn't quite know when ta'stop talkin'. Not like ah've not been accused of t'same, mah current silence nonwithstandin' she allowed, with a rueful smile spreading over her face. "It sounds like somethin' to go over with th'Chief o'Engineering, Doctor," Cara suggested respectfully. She let her green eyes dart around the room, from the stern First officer, to the mustached man with a smile, over to the unexpectedly welcoming Security Chief, then to her enthusiastic Captain, before returning to the more vexing officer. Who did have a good idea. "They might be able ta'help ye set up tha test. I'm not so sure aboot command codes though.
"Tha' issue Ah see there is that the station ain't Federation, as ah understand it," she glanced to the Captain again for confirmation as she continued. "This won't necessarily be ah simple case o'punching in ah ships code and droppin' th'shields." Much of the late Captain (then Admiral) Kirks second encounter with Khan Noonien Singh ten years prior was highly classified, and would remain so for decades to come. Some of the tactics in the battle, however, had been added to the standard academy training. Already there was talk about a class devoted simply to the study of the late Stafleet hero.

There was that possibility of Mason trying to show a good face, which there was nothing wrong with that. Though he felt a bit like Cara did. As for his suggestion and then Cara's worry about it, "Not particularly sure we have time for that and, those are not used to just drop the shields. It gives full computer control over whatever we want to make it do." Dean wasn't just showing off. Well maybe a little. Though it was because he may have chosen medical but he had that kind of mind for all things. She should hear him play the violin some time.

[Lieutenant Commander Sid Mushid | Conference Room | USS Augustus] Sid listened as Doctor House spoke, interested in what he had to say. He heard him mention his idea, but now the doc had Sid’s attention. “Not stupid?” he scoffed jovially with a smile. “Obviously not, Doc. If you had more brains to go by, I’d have expected you to have pointy ears.” Indeed, it wasn’t every day one encountered a medical doctor who had almost as much brains as a Vulcan. “I’m with Ross, Doc,” he said in agreement with Ross’s suggestion, “this is something to go over with the Chief Engineer. However, I think Engineering will appreciate the idea. “Full computer control, you say?” he added, starting when House mentioned it. “However, given that station isn’t technically Federation, I agree, Doc, we don’t have time for it. “So, in the event things go wrong, what can we expect, Captain?” he asked; it was a question he always used in advance so that he would be prepared. After all, plans, as the old saying on Earth says, rarely survives contact with the enemy, whatever it may be.

[ Captain Mason Finch | Conference Room | USS Augustus ] attn: syrano Angelus Kai multificionado As he listened, Mason nodded. This was all a bit complex for him and he honestly had no clue if such an idea would work. " Well, if things go belly up it could mean a power overload would go through the station and blow its core," he said, mostly as a worst-case scenario. " Likely if the core blew the whole station would blow and if the Augustus were not outside of the blast parameter, something we have no clue what might be unless it actually happens, then it's likely the Augustus would be overwhelmed with debris and critically damaged. Meaning those on the station would die and those on the ship would likely be faced with a badly damaged ship and might die too. So best to avoid that." He smiled, a sort of teasing smile showing he did not expect that kind of outcome. " More likely is they just need some help fixing something and we're gonna go do it. No worries," he said, doing his best to minimize the task as much as he could. It had to look like it'd be easy, he wanted his team confident.

"Even with your veiled attempts at comparing me to those Vulcan incompitants, I am not like them, regardless of my intelligence. If you unlocked and read my file you would know that. Just like I know all of yours. Benefits of being the Chief Medical Officer. However, since we are on a time limit..." Dean sighed a bit. Also giving a huff. "I suggest using a shuttle to interface. I'll go and take someone else with me to help."
